20-year-old woman gives birth to three sets of twins in 26 months

A 20 year old woman named Danish Couch from Kansas has given birth to three sets of twins in a little over two years, with the latest born last month.

"People just consider me a freak of nature when I tell them," said the 20-year-old mom, who apparently has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month.
Couch delivered two boys 26 months ago but one of them died from complications of premature birth. Fourteen months later, twin girls Delilah and Davina, were born. The third set, Dalanie and Darla, both girls, were born last month. They came home after three weeks in neonatal intensive care.



"So you have two eggs simutaneously coming down the tubes getting ready to be fertilised," Dr. Elizabeth Wickstorm of Shawnee Mission Medical Centre told WDAF.

The twins are all fraternal, meaning that they are from two separate eggs being fertilised, not from an egg splitting. Couch is engaged to the father of the second and third set of twins, Jeffrey Presler and are planning to get married on September. Presler is an aquarium technician and also works at Gas-mart.

"I love babies, but maybe in 10 to 15 years, when these ones are big enough to help," she told Inside Edition. The young family have been denied benefits.

"I have tried to sign up for benefits and got denied...I try best I can as a mother but sometimes I need help and honestly I am not too proud to ask," said Couch.

Woman arrested and charged with murder for drowning her 6 week old baby

A North Carolina woman, 24 year old new mum, Jameisha Alexander was seen holding her 6 week old son, King, near a pond Saturday night by someone who immediately called security. But by the time officers arrived, Alexander was gone and the baby was in the water, according to her arrest warrant.
Paramedics tried CPR to revive the newborn baby but the boy died a short time later.

Alexander was taken into custody two hours later after she was found involved in a car wreck about 20 miles away.
She was arrested and jailed on a murder charge pending a court hearing Tuesday.

Alexander's family made excuses for her saying she was having a rough time, dealing with an abusive boyfriend and while joyous, her son's birth made things tougher.
Her mum, Sandra Jones said:
"She loved that baby with everything she had in her. I think she felt like she just couldn't do it herself,"
Jones said, Alexander had taken maternity leave from her job at McDonald's to recover from her cesarean section, and was nervous about returning to work. She said her daughter was intensely private and proud, pushing away offers to watch the baby or to get her other help. Jones said she only discovered after her daughter's arrest that Alexander was being seen for depression before and after giving birth.

Alexander had hoped her boyfriend of a year-and-a-half would have been more supportive after she got pregnant, but instead he moved her to a filthy home 20 miles from her family and went back to doing drugs and abusing her.

Alexander's grandmother, Melba Jones, was in tears Tuesday, saying her granddaughter just wanted to make everything work. "All she had to do was talk to me. I always take in whoever needs help. I guess she just felt like nobody cared — when you get to that point."

8-year-old girl narrates how 40 year old school security guard raped her

The police have arrested a security guard of a public school in Lagos, Adeniyi Primary School, Itire, for allegedly raping an eight-year-old pupil.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the 40-year-old suspect, Friday Oshoba, aka Mopol, committed the alleged crime while the primary 2 pupil, Mercy (pseudonym), was waiting for her sister to pick her up after the school closed around 2pm.

Oshoba was said to have persuaded her to follow him to a deserted spot within the school and removed her underwear. He reportedly raped her afterwards.

It was gathered that a class five pupil, identified only as Bukola, who was sent on an errand by a schoolteacher, caught the guard in the act and reported to the teacher.

Nigerian journalist Didi Akinyelure has won the second BBC World News Komla Dumor Award.

Akinyelure, a business news anchor with CNBC Africa, will start a three-month placement at BBC in London in September as part of her prize. She has been with CNBC Africa since 2013.

The award, established in honour of Komla Dumor, a presenter for BBC World News, who died aged 41 in 2014, seeks to "celebrate African journalism and reward exceptional talent," BBC says.

The women gathered on the eve of the Republican National Convention, where the New York billionaire officially anointed the party's nominee for president after winning the primary race.

Entitled "Everything She Says Means Everything," the photo art featured women of all shapes, colors and sizes participated, holding up mirrors toward the arena.
